If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your childern: how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my Spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
What is it then? I will pray with the Spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also.
1 Corinthians 14:2-4, 14-15
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:4, 5
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we ought to pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Romans 8:26
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:18
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving:
Colossians 4:2
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
